I hope you guys are having an awesome time on community. Last week Mi launched the most awaited successor to India's No.1 Selling Smartphone Redmi Note 4, the Redmi Note 5 tries to the keep the features which made its predecessor a success while including some much need upgrades. Today, Lets, compare the India's New All Rounder Redmi Note 5 with Redmi Note 4 and see what has changed.                 
Camera



The Redmi Note 5 is equipped with 12 MP (f/2.2) rear camera which consists of a 5 piece lens setup accompanied by a dual tone-dual LED flash. It also features 1.25 micron pixel size, PDAF, and real-time filters and Redmi Note 4 has 13 MP CMOS camera (f/2.0) rear camera and 1.12 micron pixel size. In the front Redmi Note 4 sports a 5 MP camera whereas Redmi Note 5 has a 5 MP shooter with Led-Selfie light and Beautify 4.0. In the camera department Redmi Note 5 seems to be a clear winner with bigger pixels and better camera lens and a Selfie-LED to caputre Awesome photos even at night.

Display and Built

Redmi Note 4 had a standard 5.5" 16:9 FHD display (1920x1080). The pixel density is about 401 ppi with a contrast of 1000:1.The display is covered with 2.5D curved glass. On the other hand Redmi Note 5 sports a 5.99-inch 18:9 display which has FHD+ resolution (2160 x 1080). The pixel density is about 403 ppi with a contrast ratio of 1000:1. The display is covered with 2.5D curved glass with rounded corners. This is also the first Redmi Note device to feature Corning Gorrila Glass Protection. The Redmi Note 5 has more screen to body ratio than Redmi Note 4 while keeping the same form Factor.

Battery and Processor


Redmi Note 4 was equipped with Snapdragon 625 octa-core 2.0 ghz and a 4100mah(typ) non removable Li-Polymer battery. Both Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Note 5 also feature a similar huge 4000mah(typ) Li-Polymer battery with 2 days battery life and also features Snapdragon 625 octa-core 1.8ghz processor.
Both devices feature a pretty similar battery and processor based on 14nm FinFET technology. Redmi Note 5 also comes with a 380V charger for the India market to withstand voltage surges.

Redmi Note 5 comes with MIUI 9 on top of Android 7.1.2 and Redmi Note 5 is also the first Redmi Note series device to have on screen navigation keys. Redmi Note 4 came with MIUI8 on top of Android 6.0.1 upgradable to Android Nougat.

Variants and Price
There are a lot of improvements and Upgrades in India's New All Rounder from its predecessor, but Redmi Note 5 is still the most affordable device in the market in terms of Price to Performance ratio.

Conclusion:
Considering all the above factors like Built, Camera, Design, Battery, Display, Price etc., overall Redmi Note 5 clearly seems to be a worthy Successor of Redmi Note 4 and currently seems to be the best smartphone in the Sub 12k segment.  All the awesome things that made Redmi Note 4 great are still there and everything else is upgraded.
